Department of Global Culture and Communication

The 12 Major Program allows students to freely select from a wide range of specialties pertaining to global culture and communication to match their interests and goals. The learning environment provides interactive learning and an educational support system with overseas training and field study. Whether in Japan or overseas, students will be able to use the robust international outlook and language skills they gain in a variety of business settings.

12 Major Program
The 12 Major Program is composed of specialties in the five fields of Language Communication, Language Education, International Education, Social Contribution, and Tourism, which form the basis of the curricula.
This program aims for a decisive academic direction through alignment with student interests, aptitudes, and career paths.

Super English

Students acquire, in a practical way, an extremely high level of communication competency in English that can be used anywhere in the world.

Super Chinese

Students acquire an extremely high level of communication competency in Chinese that can help them work in the wide area of international society, including China.

English Education

Students pursue the acquisition of a high level of English and also education with regard to teaching language, both of which will help them to improve their ability to send information to international society.

Chinese Education

Students study Chinese education based on theory and practice, and improve their Chinese language knowledge and skills, while deepening their understanding of China.

Intercultural Communication

Students acquire world-class level of communication skills, so that they can go out and use their abilities in playing active roles in the international community.

International Business Expert

Students acquire both language skills and business skills so that they can utilize them when working on the front-lines of international business.

Area Studies

Students obtain a deeper understanding of each area of the world, and acquire an accurate eye whereby to comprehend today’s international society.

Contribution to International Society

Students acquire various abilities necessary to contribute to the international community, through a deep understanding on people’s ways of thinking, in order to support each other across borders.

Contribution to the Local Community

Students acquire the ability to make a contribution to the betterment of people’s lives in the local community by carefully observing them in the act of living in the community.

Business Communication

Students acquire a high level of communication competency necessary to conduct a wide range of business activities.

Tourism Business

Students learn skills to expand the wheel of human exchange, which is necessary for people who work actively in the tourist industry.

Hospitality for Tourists

Students acquire a wide range of knowledge of society, culture, religion and thought, and acquire communication competency to make the best of use of their knowledge in the tourist industry.
