| Japanese Culture & Society I & II | Students will explore Japanese culture and society to deepen their understanding of cross-cultural communication. | |
| Flower Arrangement | This is a cultural course that offers students the opportunity to study“Kado”, a traditional Japanese artform. Through the study of flower arrangment, particularly of seasonal flowers, the students will study the particular importance of seasons in Japan. | |
| Calligraphy | This course focuses on the traditional artform of Shodo, or Japanese calligraphy. Through practical experiences of learning how to prepare the ink, drawing lines, learning to write Hirgana and Kanji, the students will learn form and brush stroke order. Additionally there will be other projects related to word art and stone carving. |
