Course Offered

The student will enroll in Faculty of Global Communication.

Exchange students must take at least ASU 16 credits per semester. Of these, a minimum of 2 credits (maximum 6 credits) of Japanese-language courses is required.

Qualification for applicants

  • Non-native English speakers are required to prove an English proficiency score of TOEFL iBT 71, IELTS 5.5 (CEFR B2), or equivalent. Either language test results or, if unavailable, a document issued by the home university certifying English proficiency equivalent to or higher than the above scores must be submitted.
  • Applicants must have a GPA of 2.75 or higher (4.0 scale) with failing grades accounting for no more than 10%.
  • Grade F (Fail) must be less than 10% of the total academic results at the last educational institution.

Japanese language class

A minimum of 2 credits (maximum 6 credits) of Japanese-language courses is required. For beginner-level students of Japanese, Introductory Japanese (4 credits) is the required Japanese-language course.

NOTES

Classes are taught in English, but in daily life (including on campus) English may not always be understood, and many signs are not in English. Prior Japanese study is not required for application, but it is recommended to start learning Japanese in your home country to prepare for your stay.
