Application Requirements

Adult applicants

Eligible applicants must fully understand our admissions policy, fall under one of items (1) through (4) below, and meet the requirements listed in both items A and B.

  1. High school or secondary school graduates who will have been out of school for at least four years as of April 1, 2025
  2. Those who have completed the usual 12 years of schooling (third-year students in the case of those in high school programs at special education schools or studying at technical colleges) and who will have been out of school for at least four years as of April 1, 2025
  3. Those who have either a Certificate for Students Achieving the Proficiency Level of Upper Secondary School Graduates or have passed the University Entrance Qualification Examination, are graduates of a part-time or online high school, and who will be at least 22 years old as of April 1, 2025
  4. Those who have undergone our individual application screening process and are recognized as having the academic competence equivalent to a high school graduate or better, and who will be at least 22 years old as of April 1, 2025
  1. Must be highly motivated to enter Aichi Shukutoku University and consider it their first choice
  2. Must not be enrolled in any other university, junior college, or technical school when applying

Students returning from abroad

Eligible applicants must fully understand our admissions policy, meet the requirements listed in (1) through (3) below.

  1. Must have Japanese citizenship (or permanent resident or special permanent resident status) and either (1) completed at least 12 years of schooling either in Japan or abroad (or are expected to complete it by March 31, 2025) or (2) have undergone our individual application screening process and are recognized as having the academic competence equivalent to a high school graduate or better, and who will have turned 18 years old by March 31, 2025. Note that applicants must also have sufficient Japanese language proficiency for their coursework at the university.
  2. Schooling completed abroad must involve either:
    1. Two more years of schooling beyond the final year at an overseas secondary educational institution, with a graduation date between April 1, 2023 and March 31, 2025
    2. Two more years of schooling at an overseas secondary educational institution, followed by entry into high school upon returning to Japan, with a graduation date between April 1, 2023 and March 31, 2025 (only applies to those whose last day enrolled in an overseas secondary educational institution was on or after April 1, 2023)
  3. Must meet one of the following foreign language examination criteria
  4. Eiken Test in Practical English Proficiency (any method) Grade Pre-1 or higher, TOEIC Listening & Reading Test score of 500+ (TOEIC IP tests are ineligible), TOEFL iBT score of 48+, IELTS (academic module, any method) 4.5 or higher, GTEC (CBT type, exam version) score of 1000+, HSK level 4 or higher, Korean Language Proficiency Test level 2 or higher, Test of Proficiency in Korean level 3 or higher
NOTE:
  1. Periods during which students were enrolled in overseas high schools that use Japanese educational methods (Japanese international schools) are not considered time spent in schools abroad
  2. Periods during which students were enrolled in international, British, American, or similar high schools within Japan are not considered time spent in schools abroad
