Osu Kanon

Kitanosan Shinpukuji Hoshou-in, mostly known as Osu Kannon, is a buddhist temple of the Shingon sect located in Nagoya. First built in 1333 in Nagaoka Village, but then moved to present location in 1612 by Tokugawa Ieyasu due to floodings. In 1820 it was largely destroyed by fire, but rebuilt again in 1970s.

Around the temple, osu shopping streets, covered by roof, so you can shop peacefully even on rainy days. Lots of shops, everything from clothes, to electronics, souvenirs and a cat cafe and maid cafe or two. Lots of foodstalls and anime stuff as well.
To get to Osu Kannon from Sakae, you can either take the higashiyama line to Fushimi, then switch to the Tsurumai line and get off at Osu Kannon Station, or you can take the Meijyou line to Kamimaezu, switch to the Tsurumai line and get off at the Osu Kannon Station. Both are equally simple, and takes about the same time.
