
Tokugawa Museum
The Tokugawa museum was open fo public in 1935. Thanks to the Owari-Tokugawa family we can now enjoy these exhibitions.
Symbol of the warrior, swords and armor: Here armor and weapons are displayed here as they would be in the Daimyou's room. We can also look at the many swords that were given to the Tokugawa's as gifts.
The practice of tea, a Daimyou's tea room: In this room we can see the reconstruction of the Sarumen Tea House that was a part of Ninomaru palace in Nagoya castle. Because at that time the tea ceremony was very popular we can see many tools used to pepare tea.
Formal chambers of a Damyou's residence: In these reception chambers used by Daimyou to welcome visitors we can see different tools and many objects from China.

The Noh Theater: Here is the Noh stage used by Daimyou and many different tools and clothes needed in Noh. For example music instruments and masks.
Objects and furnishing of elegant living: The daily objects used by Daimyou and his wife can be seen here. For example incense or boards for shogi and go. Also different drawings and brushes.
The illustrated tale of Genji: Here in this room is the most famous coloured scroll in Japan. Although the original can be seen only for a short time people can see the copy or watch an informative video.
Access: Ride the Higashiyama line to Sakae and change for the Meijou line. Get off at Ozone from which it is only 15 minutes of walking.
