As the movement of people across borders becomes more active than ever, tourism has emerged as one of the world's most popular leisure activities. In Japan, the tourism industry is now considered a key sector of the economy, playing a vital role in supporting regional communities in particular. In the Major of Hospitality and Tourism Management, students specialize in fields including tourism business, hospitality, and community development, with the flexibility to combine their studies with courses from the Major of Language Studies and the Faculty of Business. Students develop the practical skills and proactive mindset needed to solve complex social issues by analyzing tourism from multiple angles, including from a global perspective and through the use of marketing and digital technologies.

    This is a year to build a foundation in the field of tourism and discover the breadth and depth of the Major of Hospitality and Tourism Management. While learning about the structure and business of hospitality and inbound tourism, you will explore seminars that align with your personal goals.

  • 2nd / 3rd year

    Deepen Your Expertise in a Specialized Seminar

    Your specialized seminar begins. You will deepen your expert knowledge while tailoring your studies to your unique interests and goals. Through experiential, off-campus courses, you will develop practical abilities and sharpen the skills required in professional fields.

  • 4th year

    Showcase Your Accomplishments with a Graduation Project

    Based on three years of learning, you will define a specific research theme. You will pursue answers through literature reviews, fieldwork, and surveys, compiling the results of your four-year journey into a final graduation research project.

    Explore the dramatic shift in modern travel. This course examines how tourism is evolving beyond simply visiting famous sites and enjoying local food, moving toward creating meaningful encounters with local traditions, culture, and people.

  • Tourism Marketing

    Develop the strategic skills for effective tourism marketing. Based on established theory and real-world case studies, you will learn how to formulate strategies that improve customer satisfaction and build a loyal base of repeat visitors.

  • Sociology of Tourism

    Discover the social dynamics of tourism. Using a sociological lens that focuses on the relationships between individuals and groups, this course examines the phenomenon of tourism in modern society from multiple perspectives.
