Faculty Mission

Our world is more connected than ever, a reality you see around you every day. In this global environment, success belongs to those who have a deep cross-cultural understanding and can communicate with confidence in English. This is precisely why the Faculty of Global Communication exists. Our mission is to cultivate "global citizens" who act as bridges between people, communities, and cultures. We don't just teach English; we empower you to use it persuasively and adaptably in any situation. You will graduate with a true global perspective and the critical thinking skills to identify and solve complex problems, ready to make your mark on the world.

Message from the Dean

Welcome to the Faculty of Global Communication, or GLOCOM, as we like to call it. Our most defining feature is that all of your specialized courses will be conducted entirely in English. While that might sound challenging, we’ve designed a pathway to ensure your success. Your journey begins with our First-year English Program (FEP), an intensive program of focused practice and reinforcement that builds a rock-solid foundation for your skills. This prepares you for your second year, when every GLOCOM student embarks on a 6- to 10-week study abroad experience at a partner university in a country like the United States or Australia. It’s a chance to connect your learning to your future goals, and we support every student with a ¥400,000 subsidy to help make it happen. When you return, you'll find the global environment continues right here on campus as you study alongside exchange students from around the world. It all adds up to a truly immersive environment. If you are serious about mastering English by living it every day, then I believe GLOCOM is the perfect place for you.
